school, the design focuses on fostering community
engagement. At the center of the marketplace is a circular
lawn, providing a versatile space for residents to enjoy
even when the market is closed. This space o昀昀ers a break
from the “concrete jungle,” serving as a play area for
children and a relaxing spot for locals.
The mezzanine features a repurposed shipping container
housing a co昀昀ee shop, creating a welcoming place for
neighbors to gather. The open lawn also bene昀椀ts teachers,
o昀昀ering a safe outdoor area for lessons, as no street
separates the market from the school. This thoughtful
design ensures the space is a valuable community
resource year-round.
